Jaguar are a British based manufacturer of luxury cars now owned by the Indian Company Tata Motors.
Founded in 1922 originally producing sidecars for motorcycles and named the Swallow Side Car Company founded by Sir William Lyons later moving in to motor car production with the SS Jaguar. Following World War II and wanting to avoid any links with the initials SS the company was renamed Jaguar.
Originally produced in Blackpool, production was switched to Coventry as they outgrew the factory.
In 1989 Ford bought Jaguar and helped it launch the S-Type & X-Type models, both of which shared Ford platforms. In 2009 Ford sold Jaguar to Tata Motors.
Jaguar will of course remain famous for one of the most iconic cars in the world, the Jaguar E type. Driven in the 60's by professional footballers and pop stars it is probably on the wish list of anyone who dreams of buying and restoring a classic car.
One thing is for certain, you can be sure that if you have a Jaguar for sale demand is still high and if you are thinking "I would like to sell my Jaguar" than providing you have looked after it and have a good service history with the car a sale should almost be a forgone conclusion!
